Traditionally, we also celebrate the Day of Folk Tales in our school library. This year, on Elek Benedek’s birthday we organized a quiz with our partner schools. More details can be read on the homepage of our school. Of course, we haven't forgotten our tale-loving pupils. Our 2nd graders could enjoy the tale of Musicians of Bremen in our Paper Theatre on 2 October. The next two afternoons they could come to our handicraft clubs where the leading part was also of tales.

The new school year has started on 2 September. We will organize several events also this year, such as author-reader meetings or cultural and handicraft clubs. New books have also arrived to our library, and more wishes can come true in November. Our readers have taken possession of school library still on the first days. We hope we will have lots of pleasure and success this year, too.

Lower students from our six partner schools have been invited to a 3-round game in the world of folk tales. They all have managed to do the first 2 rounds successfully. The last round is going to be held at the beginning of September in our library. Till then, have a pleasant summer!
 

Our 7th and 8th graders and also students from our partner schools have got lots of experiences in a one-week camp held in the library of the Savaria Campus of the University of West Hungary. They have gained insight into both the traditional and the digital ways of acquisition of knowledge, furthermore, also into editing blogs and homepages.

In the project, no. TÁMOP-3.2.4.A-11/1-2012-0088, our 25 students could take part in a summer camp in the library of the Savaria Campus of the University of West Hungary. It was a week long and free of charge. Many programmes were provided for our 5th and 6th graders. They visited the Savaria Museum where they could gain insight into the life of ancient Savaria. They also went on a trip to Pannonhalma to see the library of Pannonhalma Abbey and the ancient artworks.

In the National Book Week on 14 June Laura Leiner, the author of Saint Johanna High School series, met her readers from Szombathely in the Berzsenyi Dániel Library. Many of her readers came to see her and to take home a dedicated copy of her book. Photos have also been taken which are available and downloadable on Facebook. We hope we can welcome the young writer soon again. Till then we’re looking forward to her two new novels, the Babel will be in bookshops this autumn.

Ha már olvastátok Rumini korábbi kalandjait, és Galléros Fecó naplóját, itt az ideje, hogy Berg Judit hamarosan megjelenő új könyvét is keressétek a könyvtárakban, a könyvesboltokban. A Rumini a Fényvizeken című könyv a Szélkirálynő kalandjait meséli el Datolyapartról és Ferrit-szigetről hazafelé. Ezekről az eseményekről titkos üzenetekból, és levelekből értesülhetünk a rendhagyó módon elkészült Rumini-levélregényben.

Iskolánk Könyvtára  a Társadalmi Megújulás Operatív Program keretében „A könyvtári hálózat nem formális és informális képzési szerepének erősítése az élethosszig tartó tanulás érdekében” címmel pályázatot nyújtott be, európai uniós források elnyerésére az elmúlt évben azért, hogy a diákok körében az olvasást népszerűsíthesse. A nyertes pályázat lehetővé tette, hogy  a könyvtár számos rendezvényt szervezzen a cél érdekében.

A Gothard Jenő Általános Iskola Könyvtárának Pályázatában –
„A könyvtári hálózat nem formális és informális képzési szerepének erősítése az élethosszig tartó tanulás érdekében” -
olvasásra ösztönző interaktív előadást készít a Weöres Sándor Színház.

A kőszívű ember fiai c. Jókai-regény alapján interaktív előadást készül.

A TÁMOP-3.2.4.A-11/1-2012-0088 kódszámú pályázat keretében látogatott el iskolánk könyvtárába Sohonyai Edit Príma-díjas írónő.
 Rendhagyó író-olvasó találkozókat tart szerte az országban, ahol metakommunikációról, önbizalomról, annak hiányáról, a fiú-lány kapcsolatokról beszél a kamaszkorú fiataloknak.
