Unsere Schüler aus den 7. und 8. Klassen konnten an einem Lager teilnehmen, das ihnen sehr interessante Erlebnisse und nützliches Wissen gegeben hat. Diese Kinder sind eine Woche lang mit den Kindern aus den 6 Partnerschulen in der Bücherei der West-ungarischen Universität geswesen. Neben der Kurzweil hatten sie Zeit zur Selbsterkenntnis, Berufsorientierung, sportlichen Bewegungen und auch zum Spielen.

In the EU project, no. TÁMOP-3.2.4.A-11/1-2012-0088, a Príma-prized writer, Edit Sohonyai has visited us to meet her readers and to talk about meta-communication, self-confidence or the lack of it, the relationship between boys and girls.
She has already experience the anxious life of teenagers and that how far happiness seems in such state. Therefore she could write her books about teenagers and their problems genuinely.

Im Rahmen eines Projekts (TÁMOP-3.2.4.A-11/1-2012-0088) machten 25 Kinder aus unserer Schule in der ersten Ferienwoche einen kostenlosen Urlaub in der Bücherei der West- ungarischen Universität. Das Programm war sehr gehaltvoll. Sie besichtigten das Savaria Museum, wo sie einen Einblick in das Leben von dem antiken Savaria bekamen. Sie machten einen Ausflug nach Pannonhalma, wo sie sogar die Bücherei der Erzabtei Pannonhalma besichtigen durften. Sie lernten die Bücherei der West- ungarischen Universität, die Regeln der Büchereibenutzung kennen. Sie nahmen an dem „Digitalen-Festung” Spiel teil, mit dessen Hilfe sie die Regeln und Dokumente der Bücherei entdecken konnten. Außer dieser Programme hatten sie ja natürlich jeden Tag Zeit für Sport und Spielen.

 On the initiative of the International Association of School Librarianship, from 1999 more and more countries celebrate the importance of school libraries in October all around the world. From 2008, there are library-popularizing events all October long. In our project, no. TÁMOP-3.2.4.A-11/1-2012-0088, we also offer handicraft clubs in the last two weeks of October.

Im Rahmen der festlichen Buchwoche hat Laura Leiner in der ”Berzsenyi Dániel” Bücherei auf ihre Leser gewartet. Sie hat eine Serie mit dem Titel „Das St. Johanna Gymnasium” geschrieben. Schon vor dem Anfangszeitpunkt der Dedikation hat eine lange Schlange vor dem Eingang der Bücherei gestanden, aber jeder hat geduldig auf das Treffen mit der Schriftstellerin gewartet. Nach der Dedikation konnte man Fotos mit der Schritetellerin machen, die man auf Facebook-Seite sehen und herunterladen kann.

In the International Month of Libraries we organized another author-reader meeting where mainly the lower classes and some 5th and 6th grade students could attend Judit Horváth’s interactive presentation. It was on 16 October in our school library. The author of The Princess of Roses guided her readers into the historical past extraordinarily.

On 9 October a local historical competition called “Pure Szombathely” was held for 7^th and 8^th grade students of our partner schools in the project in the Savaria Campus of the University of West Hungary.

One of the former students of our school talked about his interesting walk of life and book to our school-leavers. It was amusing to see the photos of the presenter's journey around the world, from America to Asia. We could see the cities and the sights of New York, London, Barcelona, Prague, but we also could take delight in the pictures of wonderful landscapes of Asia and Africa. Meanwhile we talked about the writing of the book, the pleasures and difficulties of a writer's job.

The former president of International Association of School Librarianship, Dr. Blanche Wolls appealed to organize the International School Library Day in 1999. It was held on 18 October, 1999. From 2008, October is the International School Library Month. They would like to call students, teachers, parents and presses' attention to school libraries with the events of this day in schools all around the world. This programme is also supported by the European Union.
